Notable Locations in District 38

Energy Corridor

The Energy Corridor is a seven mile stretch of I-10 between Beltway 8 and Grand Parkway. Dozens of energy companies operate in this area, including BP, Shell, Citgo, ConocoPhillips, and Wood Group. With over 56,000 jobs, it is the second largest employment center in the region.

Memorial

The Memorial area is home to over 47,000 residents, most of which are zoned to Spring Branch Independent School District. Some major landmarks in this area are Memorial City Mall, Memorial Hermann Medical Center, and CityCentre.

Tomball

Located in northwest Harris County, the city of Tomball is home to over 12,000 residents, including Melissa McDonough. It is named after Democratic Congressman Thomas Ball. The historic Train Depot is located in the heart of downtown Tomball.

The population of CD38 was 783,719 in 2021, and makes up 16.5% of the total population of Harris County.
